| Details: Job Description TITLE:                        Education Director   [Exempt]   CLUB OR UNIT:                   REPORTS TO:          Program Director or Unit Director POSITION SUMMARY: Under the limited supervision of the Program Director (Unit Director or Program Coordinator) the Education Director is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating educational enhancement programs for girls and boys ages 6 to 13.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1.          Plan, develop, implement, supervise, evaluate and promote a variety of safe, age-appropriate educational enhancement and career development programs for girls and boys ages 6 – 13.2.          Stimulate participation in the Club’s educational and career development programs and activities.3.          Develop and maintain strong working relationships with schools that members attend.4.          As applicable, operate programs and activities within current state licensing requirements for school age child care centers; address non-compliance issues as needed.5.          Within guidelines established by the Program Director/Unit Director, work with other Club professionals to plan for a variety of age-appropriate programs and activities, which reflect Boys & Girls Club’s five core program areas and Youth Development Strategy.6.          Cooperate with other staff in coordinating educational and career development activities with other Club programs and activities, as well as in meeting programmatic objectives and outcomes established for the Club.7.          Consistently incorporate “high yield learning activities."8.          Directly supervise children and youth within guidelines established by Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware, the Program Director, and in compliance with applicable state licensing regulations.9.          Develop and maintain relationships with parents, teachers, principals, and local school board officials.10.     Within established organizational guidelines, develop and maintain systems for accurately tracking participation, school grades, and other needed information.11.     Complete and submit reports, and perform other administrative tasks as needed or directed.12.     Present yourself as a positive role model for youth.13.     Within guidelines established by the Program Director, recruit, hire, train and supervise staff and volunteers as needed; ensure that child care staff members meet qualifications and ongoing training requirements per state licensing regulations.14.     Assist in planning and implementing Club-wide activities, events and initiatives.15.     Contribute toward development of a positive identity and strong presence for the Boys & Girls Clubs in the community.16.     Assume other tasks, assignments and responsibilities as needed or directed.17.     Support and contribute to the success of other staff members. ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:§             Supervisory - Provide direct supervision to volunteers and part-time staff; provide leadership at special programs and/or events.§             Budget - Control expenditures against an assigned budget; recommend income and expense projections for assigned areas of responsibility; assist with the financial development of the child care program.§             Relationships – (Internally) Boys & Girls Club employees, volunteers, members; (External) community residents, leaders, businesses, vendors, schools and other youth-serving organizations. ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Environmental and working conditions vary from indoors to outdoors;
